Jules's Blurb:  Beef Stir Fry with Oyster Sauce with Sweet Chillies (bell peppers) and a few other tasty morsels such as Spring Onions (scallions) make this one of my favourite beef stir fry recipes of all time and you can have it with or without chillies as we show you in the full video tutorial.

Beef Stir Fry Recipe    The trick with this recipe as with most beef stir fry recipes (and any Thai stir fry recipe for that matter) is timing!   Cook it too slowly and the meat goes tough and the veggies go too soft.  Of course this is easy on a Thai super burner but it can be done at home with a normal cooker and in this video tutorial we show you exactly how to master it every time

The way this recipe is prepared gives you a lovely savoury sweet stir fry which you can spice up (with care) and has a very subtle aroma of sesame oil.  It's one of those Thai Beef Stir Fry Recipes everyone in the family will enjoy.  While your here, take a look at our other Stir Fry Recipes but, bear in mind our seafood stir fry recipes are in the seafood recipes section!

How to Make Beef Stir Fry with Oyster Sauce

Ingredients:Beef Stir Fry Recipe Ingredients

Menu for 2 good portions

300gr Frying Steak
3 Garlic Cloves
3 Spring Onions
2/3 Cup Sweet Pepper chopped
3 Tbs Oyster Sauce
1 Tbs Fish Sauce
1 ts Sugar
1 ts Chicken Stock Powder
2 Tbs Cooking Oil
1-2 ts Sesame Oil
Pepper to taste

Optional Extra:  2 Thai Chillies if you want it slightly spicy
(see
full video for how to do this without over powering the dish)

Preparation:

Slice the beef into bite sized ribbons

Slice Garlic cloves as photo (chunky)

Chop Spring Onions (scallions)

Cut enough Sweet peppers (mixed colours) to almost fill a cup

Cooking:

Starting with a hot wok add the cooking oil and then the garlic stirring until it softens

Now add the beef and stir in a few times until partially cooked before adding the fish sauce, sugar, chicken stock and lastly, the Oyster sauce and a little water for gravy.

When the water boils add the sweet peppers and stir fry for about 1 minute and taste test

Last jobs, add the sesame oil, some pepper and the spring onions, stir a few times and...

Done!

You just learned how to make a Beef Stir Fry Recipe in under five minutes

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with Jasmine rice of course,  this dish is a great accompaniment to so many Thai recipes.  Here's a couple Khwanjai suggested in the video, try our BBQ Fish Recipe or BBQ Ribs with Garlic or a nice soup, see our Thai soup recipes section

Because of its sweet and savoury flavours it is often served with curries and spicy dishes in general, unless you're doing the spicy version.  As part of a main meal it would be served in a central bowl for all to share.  Try our Pork Red Curry Recipe or maybe something rich and spicy like Dry Chicken Red Curry Recipe  (it's not dry like the name implies, it means no oil or milk is used in cooking) or perhaps a Ginger Chicken Stir Fry

You might want to take a look at our ThaiFood-TV video blog for more info on this recipe
