Thai Food Made Easy
David Cram Says
Sawatdii Khrap Kwanjai!!
Thank you for the welcome and the hello.
Yes, I am enjoying the videos very much, and not only myself but the whole family sit down to watch them at the same time also! My wife always has a good laugh when watching and loves the way that you and Jules interact together. I have learnt so much so far and it is amazing to be able to cook food that tastes like what I have eaten before in Thailand or a Thai restaurant in Australia.
Keep up the good work!
David

Just want to take a moment to say you guys are awesome and give you some positive feedback. Jules, it's rare than someone with your class and good character (hey, just let me believe it!) has the guts to go live the dream and then be generous enough to share it with those of us stuck out here in the safe, secure and thoroughly BORING, bland and spirit sucking West. Subscription to this site is the best deal I've seen since $1.10/gallon gasoline!
Khwanjai is a lovely, very funny lady with a wonderful skill. Again, kudos to you both for having the cajones to leave the "comforts" of the UK for a real life doing what you love in Thailand.

" Your video tutorials are right on the money and just don't leave room for error. A total newbie to Thai cuisine when I joined, even I have managed to produce outstanding results much to the surprise of my guests one of whom, a Thai lady friend of my wifes, asked me for the recipe,
WooHooo!
Keep up the good work and if anyone reading this is thinking of joining? Don't hesitate! Khwanjai really knows her stuff. The one time I called for help, Jules answered and Khwanjai was right there on the phone too, we chatted while Jules fixed my access issue.
Your a great team, Keep it up! Very Warmest Regards Backatcha"

First I'd like to say I get a lot more from this website besides the really good recipes, its the first website that goes into what kind of things go well together and that kind of thing has given me a much better understanding and I've enjoyed Thai food more then ever.Tony Milligan Says
It’s nice to have this kind of interaction with you guys. Boy, am I glad I found your website. I’ve been a Silver member since you opened, when ever I’ve needed advice, you’ve been there instantly, I have cooked over 20 of your recipes now, the videos make all the difference, I feel like I know you guys, man that’s powerful, it’s like I don’t want to miss a single episode, the best part for me is the way you always show the key turning points real close up so I know what I’m aiming for, I’ve gotten a much better understanding of Thai cooking.
Oh yes this last one made me howl with laughter, Khwanjai’s face was a picture, I replayed the ending about 6 times. Gotta run, I’m off to make fowl romantic dinner for two! Tony Milligan (silver member)

Here's a slightly less tongue in cheek welcome video

Khwanjai's Thai Cooking School FAQ's

|
YOU choose what "YOU" want to learn! * We have a beginners Thai Banquet course to get complete Thai food newbies off to a frying start. * However our focus is on catering to student needs at all levels and with over 100 video tutorials to choose from there is something for everyone right up to professional chefs from other cultures, who want to learn Thai cooking. * We are also on hand for discussion on varying recipes to suit your individual needs. |
Do I have the Time to Learn Thai cooking?
|
If you have time to cook - you have time to learn Thai cooking. * Khwanjai advocates her cooking by tongue method. In other words practice, taste and experiment as you go. * Whilst a great "Authentic" Thai recipe is essential to get you on the right track, getting down and dirty in the kitchen, ie. getting stuck into the cooking is far more important than studying the recipe. * Khwanjai also shares hundreds of her Thai Chefs Top Tips to save you time and costly mistakes. |
How Long is the Course?
|
Entirely up to you. * We have teenagers and professional chefs as students from all over the world in different time zones so a structured syllabus won't work for all. * Therefore our Thai Cooking School follows the "Open Learning" model which means it's all there for you from the start. * You pick and choose what you want to learn and when you want to cook it! |
Can I learn Thai cooking on-line compared to learning in a kitchen class?
|
Probably easier! Consider these points... Every Thai cooking classroom we have ever seen uses Thai (high heat, like a furnace) burners. Try and replicate that when you get home. * Khwanjai adapts to make our tuition easy to copy at home, we use ordinary camping gas cooker and ordinary "el cheapo" non-stick wok! You can't quite remember a certain sequence in the recipe which the tutor said was important! Try and phone the tutor and ask them to do a replay for you as you are preparing your meal * Hit replay on your computer and watch video tutorial again! Is the kitchen classroom near to your home? Do you have to fight through traffic? Is it at a time to suit your schedule? * Doh! How much traffic is there in your own kitchen? How far is it? Is it open when you need it? |
Will I need any Special Equipment?
|
Is a cheap non-stick Wok special equipment? * It's true, some Thai recipes are made using specialised equipment however, we always cover alternative methods. * We don't dumb down the recipes though, we keep them as close to authentic as possible. You may need some hard to find ingredients, but again we always offer suggestions for alternatives. * We also have a section on kitchen essentials covering equipment and ingredients so you can see for yourself, nothing very special or out of the ordinary. |
Here's the big one!!
Do you trust "Us" to help you to achieve your Thai cooking desires and goals?
|
What are your cooking desires and goals? * Only you know the answer to that one! * For most chefs, the greatest pleasure in seeing the delight on your guests faces as they savour the food you just prepared. * There's also a special satisfaction of recognition, when a guest asks you to teach them how to make something. * On the negative side is the fear that your culinary offering is not up to scratch, due to lack of knowledge or proper guidance |
Here is an example video tutorial you can watch to allow you make up your own mind. Its the full video, minus Khwanjai's extra tips and alternatives which are normally added to the video tutorials' page.
The video tutorial below is Gai Seiuw a lovely Chicken Stir Fry Recipe that tastes out of this world .
A useful conversation piece at your BBQ or dinner party: Gai seiuw goes through a 3 part cooking process to acheive the succulent flavour, mildly laced with chilli, garlic and a hint of toasted molasses.
We are purposely not showing our slickest videos or the worst. Just an average tutorial, some are okay, you know just us two having fun in the kitchen, plain and functional, and some are blooming hysterical but they all have one thing in common. Quality information from a quality Thai Chef, the price you have to pay to get that information is suffering the the boring old fart by her side.
Gai Seiuw (Chicken Stir Fry) Very Special

Khwanjai and I were discussing how can we help our 1st time visitors to get a better understanding of what we have to offer, a sort of "What's in it for You!"
