Jules's Blurb:   This is a great "Khwanjai Unique" Yakisoba noodles recipe, influenced by her time working Yakisoba Recipe Imagein Japan, she created this recipe using Thai cooking style applied to a Japanese dish

In Khwanjai's Thai cooking classes she teaches us lots of tips for creating mouth watering dishes to please all the family and this video tutorial is no different, packed with great tips and advice to improve your results, sign up now for Khwanjai's Thai cooking classes your free banquet course!

Yakisoba, often mistakenly written Yaki Soba is really a Japanese recipe but as Khwanjai is half Japanese, and several Thai recipes are influenced by Japanese cuisine so it is natural for us to include this "Yaki Soba Recipe" and chicken yakisoba is very popular in Thailand and served in many restaurants

The kids'll love this one, it's not spicy at all but can be if you prefer.  During the making of this video tutorial we actually make pork yakisoba instead of chicken as in this recipe, just to demonstrate that either is great

Yakisoba Recipe

How to Make Yakisoba

Ingredients:This recipe will feed 4 small - medium sized kids or two adults
1 Pack of "Fresh" Yakisoba "Egg noodles" about 300g
Yakisoba Recipe Ingredients
1 Chicken Breast (200g)
2 Quality Hot dogs
1 Cup Cabbage
(chopped)
1 Cup Bean Sprouts
1/2 Onion (about 1/2 cup when cut)
1 Carrot  (about 1/2 cup when cut)
2 Cloves garlic
2 tbs Oil
2 tbs Thai Seasoning Sauce
2 tbs Oyster sauce
2 ts sugar
1 ts pepper

Preparation:

Wash and cut chicken breast, small, thin slices and the hot dogs diagonally (slices not logs) to about 1" long (see recipe video)

Flatten, squish, squash and chop the garlic (don't go mad, I was kidding) Rough cut, Ok?

Cut carrot, cabbage & onion (no tears please) rinse and mix together

Drop Yakisoba into boiling water for 1 minute remove and leave, (you can even run under hot tap for 2 mins)

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the oil medium high heat, put in garlic until you have that lovely aroma, (5-10 seconds)

Add chicken and stir until white (about 2 minutes)

Add hot dogs, stir for a further 1-2 minutes

Add vegetables stir and mix for 2 minutes

Add warm Yakisoba noodles and mix in

Lastly add seasoning sauce, sugar & oyster sauce, mix and stir for 2 minutes turn off gas add freshly ground pepper on top

Done!  You just learned how to make Yakisoba

Serving Suggestions:    Serve in a bowl and eat with chop sticks (more fun for the kids) if you like it spicy you can add Red Chilli Powder  We sometimes like to add a sprinkling of fried garlic on top too

Now you've mastered this one try our Noodles with Pork Recipe, dare I say it, pot noodles are based on this recipe, but this is wholesome and is almost as quick to make
